Don Cholo — Character Study
This is a 3D character I recently worked on, based on a concept I found online. The main goal of this project was to challenge myself by moving across different tools and workflows, using ZBrush, Maya, and Blender.
Sculpting “Oldman” was a really rewarding experience, especially focusing on capturing personality through forms and subtle details. I wanted to push expression and storytelling, turning the original concept into something with a bit more identity, which led to naming him Don Cholo.
Texturing was done in Substance Painter, where I focused on bringing out the age, skin variation, and material richness. Final rendering was done in Blender Cycles.
Overall, this piece was about exploration, iteration, and strengthening my cross-software workflow.
Hope you like it!
